Custom magnet packaging planned for retail, barcodes and repeat orders
Retail packaging is part of the product specification. Define the card or pack, attachment method, barcode, required languages, protection and carton assortment before quotation so the product, artwork and packing route can be reviewed together.
Choose a retail format
We supply backing cards, barcoded OPP bags, retail gift boxes and bulk packing. Bag-and-header and blister-style packs are reviewed per project. The right format depends on the product, retail channel, display method and destination. Review each option against the buyer brief before quotation.
| Option | Useful when | Define before quote | Evidence to review |
|---|---|---|---|
| Backing cards | A visible card carries the product name, story, barcode and price while the magnet is displayed on the card for hanging retail. | Card size, material, print finish, attachment method, cut shape and barcode placement. Capability, dimensions, materials and tests remain project-specific until confirmed. | Card sample, print proof, attachment test and a packed-sample inspection before bulk production. |
| Bag-and-header packs | A bag with a printed header card suits small or flexible items and keeps the product visible while carrying brand and barcode information. | Bag material and gauge, header card size, seal method, hang-hole and label area. Capability, dimensions, materials and tests remain project-specific until confirmed. | Header proof, seal-strength check and a packed sample that confirms the product sits correctly inside the bag. |
| Blister-style packs | A formed blister on a backing card protects a rigid or premium item while showing the product and printed card together. | Blister material and form, card backing, sealing route, hang-hole and product orientation. Capability, dimensions, materials and tests remain project-specific until confirmed. | Blister sample, seal integrity check and a packed sample reviewed against the intended retail display. |
| Gift boxes | A folded or rigid box adds a premium presentation layer for gift, museum or destination retail where the pack itself is part of the product. | Box style, board grade, print finish, insert or tray, closure and label area. Capability, dimensions, materials and tests remain project-specific until confirmed. | Box proof, structural sample, print proof and a packed sample that confirms fit, protection and closure. |
| Bulk packing | Bulk packing in inner and master cartons suits giveaway, event or distributor programs where individual retail packaging is not required. | Units per inner and master carton, protection layer, labeling and carton marks. Capability, dimensions, materials and tests remain project-specific until confirmed. | Carton sample, protection check and a packed carton reviewed against the destination and handling requirements. |
Prepare artwork and barcodes
Define card size, front and back copy, logo permissions, barcode symbology and data supplied by the buyer, required languages, warnings where applicable, color references, bleed and safe area, and artwork version control. CS does not create or validate retail barcodes; the buyer or its authorized provider supplies and approves the barcode data, and the artwork must keep the code readable at the intended product size.

Frequently asked questions
How is the magnet fixed to a backing card?
+
The attachment method depends on the magnet construction, card design, display method and transport risk. Confirm the proposed method with a physical packed sample before bulk production.
Can each SKU have a barcode?
+
Yes, when the buyer supplies and approves the correct barcode data for each SKU and the packaging artwork keeps the code readable at the intended size. Barcode ownership and retail-system validation remain with the buyer or its authorized provider.
What copy is required on retail packaging?
+
Provide the approved product name, brand and legal copy, languages, origin or importer information where applicable, warnings if required, barcode data and any retailer-specific fields. Requirements depend on the product and market.
Can mixed designs be packed in one carton?
+
A mixed-SKU plan can be reviewed when the buyer defines the assortment, units per SKU, labeling and receiving requirements. The final method and counts must be confirmed in the quotation and packing specification.
